Libyan Sahlab with Nuts recipe

Libyan Qasab flour Sahlab is another type of traditional Sahlab that uses Qasab flour instead of starch to add texture to the drink. Here is the recipe for Libyan Qasab flour Sahlab:
Ingredients:
- 4 cups of milk
- 1/2 cup of Qasab flour ( type of millet plant => pearl millet )
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon of ground cardamom
- 1/4 teaspoon of ground saffron
- 1/4 cup of chopped almonds
- 1/4 cup of chopped pistachios
- 1/4 cup of chopped walnuts
Method:
1. In a large bowl, mix the milk, Qasab flour, and sugar until well combined.
2. Add the cardamom and saffron to the bowl and continue to mix.
3. Place the bowl over medium heat and continue to stir until the mixture boils.
4. When the mixture boils, reduce the heat and continue to stir until the Sahlab becomes thick.
5. Add the nuts to the bowl and continue to stir for an additional two minutes.
6. Remove the bowl from the heat and let the Sahlab cool for a few minutes.
7. Pour the Sahlab into serving cups and it can be garnished with additional nuts.
Libyan Qasab flour Sahlab can be served hot or cold and is a famous winter drink in the country.
