Mbakbaka pasta is a delicious one-pot Libyan recipe that is perfect for a quick and easy meal. Here's how to make it:


Ingredients:

- 1 pound ground beef , lamb or chickens

- 1 onion, diced

- 2 garlic cloves, minced

- 1 teaspoon cumin (optional)

- 1 teaspoon paprika

- 1 teaspoon cinnamon

- Salt and black pepper

- 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes

- 3 cups water

- 1 pound penne pasta or any type 

- 1/4 cup chopped parsley, for garnish

- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro, for garnish


Instructions:


1. In a large pot or Dutch oven, cook the ground beef or lamb over medium-high heat until browned, stirring occasionally.


2. Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the pot, and cook until the onion is translucent.


3. Add the cumin, paprika, cinnamon, salt, and black pepper to the pot, and stir to combine.


4. Pour in the can of diced tomatoes and 3 cups of water, and stir to combine.


5. Add the penne pasta to the pot, stir to combine, and bring the mixture to a boil.


6. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the pasta is cooked and most of the liquid has been absorbed.


7. Remove the pot from the heat, and let it sit for a few minutes to cool slightly.


8. Garnish the mbakbaka pasta with chopped parsley and cilantro, and serve hot.
