How to improve my violent behavior towards my child and stop shouting at them
أكتوبر 23, 2022
Stopping yelling and angry instructions at children is difficult, but with practice it can be improved. Here are some tips to help you with this:
• Stay calm and in control of your anger. Before speaking to your child, take a few deep breaths to calm your heartbeat and enable you to think coldly.
• Respect your child and expect mistakes. Remember that he is always learning and growing. Respond kindly, not in anger, to his mistakes.
• Speak in a calm and confident tone. Use a guiding approach instead of an order approach. Provide options instead of commands.
• Focus on desired behavior instead of undesirable behavior. Tell your child clearly and explicitly what you want from his behavior.
• Do not feel ashamed to apologize to your child if you have yelled at him or said hurtful words. Your apology will build your relationship and strengthen your child's confidence in himself.
Continuously improving! You will not stop for a moment from learning and practicing better methods for your child's growth.
Here are some additional tips to improve your relationship with your child:
• Spend enjoyable time together. Go out together for a meal or play, or do any activity you like. Spending good time together strengthens bonds.
• Talk to him and listen to him. Converse and show interest in his opinions and feelings. Encourage a different perspective and acknowledge it.
• Discuss your expectations of him clearly and maintain clear boundaries. Make sure your rules are reasonable and implementable. Make him part of developing these rules.
• Express your appreciation and praise for him and his positive behavior. Appreciation is rare between parents and children. Make sure to grant your child the appreciation and praise he deserves.
• Try to look at things from your child's perspective. Try to understand his feelings and motives. A better understanding of him will help you respond to him appropriately.
I hope these tips benefit you. Spend enjoyable and constructive times with your child and remember that relationships take time to build, so remain firm and patient!
